Just a wild off the cuff guess that the next iMacs will not be brushed metal. This rumor has been around for a while, and recently Fake Steve suggested that it is to match the iPhone. I say no because the iPhone dock is shown to be the usual white and not brushed metal. I could be wrong, since after all the Mac Pro is brushed metal, but it comes with the non-matching white keyboard and mouse.
Actually, the real reason they will not be brushed metal: they're just about to finally get rid of every last bit of it in the OS X interface! Why the heck would they then go make a computer whose case is all brushed metal to absolutely clash with it? Honestly, these rumor people have much to learn. Seriously though, don't the cinema displays and mac minis have just a satin metal finish rather than brushed metal? That would match Leopard's smooth metal "unified" windows, but then so would black. Yeah. Maybe black will be the new white.
